Airport numbers reflect region's growing popularity

Recent news from the Guanacaste Tourism Board and the International Airports in Liberia (Daniel Oduber) and in San Jose (SJO) conveys important and exciting news about the increasing visitor ship to Costa Rica.

According to the report just released, the number of passengers who came through the Liberia Airport totaled 60,020 - an increase of 18% in March 2008 over March 2007. During the first trimester of '08, traffic through the airport grew by approximately 17,750 people compared to the same time period the previous year.

This increase in airport traffic reflects a 20% jump in tourism for the entire country for the March '08 timeframe over last March's numbers.
